Walk around your home and look for damage caused by heat, storms, and everyday wear. Inspect siding, trim, gutters and downspouts, exterior paint, steps and railings, and caulking around doors and windows.
5. Give Your Drywall and Paint a Look
Humidity and water intrusion can affect your home’s interior surfaces. Look for cracks, peeling paint, bubbling, stains, or damaged drywall. If you do notice damage, don’t just cover it with a fresh coat of paint. The underlying issue should be identified and repaired first!
6. Check Your Plumbing
Your plumbing system works year-round, but summer can be a good time to look for small issues before cooler weather arrives. Check under your sinks, around toilets, near appliances, and in utility areas for any leaks or water stains.
